Meditation

“The surest sign that God exists is the increasing heart-bursting joy felt in meditation.”
-
Paramahansa Yogananda

Central to Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings are scientific techniques of concentration and meditation that lead to the direct personal experience of God. These yoga methods quiet the mind and make it possible to withdraw the energy and attention from the usual turbulence of thoughts, emotions and sensory perceptions. In the clarity of that inner stillness, you will come to experience a deepening awareness of God’s presence as inner peace and divine bliss.

An introduction to meditation can be found here. In-depth study of the yoga methods taught by Paramahansa Yoganana is available through the SRF Lessons, a home-study series organized in easy-to-absorb weekly studies.

Paramahansa Yogananda also taught the importance of meditating with others: “The proximity of others’ spiritual vibrations has the power of raising your own. . . .” To learn more about the value and purpose of group meditation, please visit Seeking God Together.
